Nolan grew up in the prairies of Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln earning a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife while minoring in Environmental Studies and Urban Forestry. Ranging from the bush of South Australia to the coastal range of Oregon he has spent the past two years nest searching/monitoring, banding, and conducting bird surveys. He is stoked to be a part of the conservation effort for Maui’s honeycreepers and the ‘alalā.
